Temescal Creek winds through the Dos Lagos golf course
for almost a mile, providing an important water source, habitat and transportation
corridor for a variety of wildlife in the area.

Once choked by arundo, illegal dumping and
unstable banks caused by early mining activities, Temescal Creek
is being restored to provide important riparian habitat, and to
enhance the lifestyle at Dos Lagos.
The Riverside-Corona Resource Conservation District is overseeing
a process that includes regular monitoring and testing of the creek
to make sure it is suitable for wildlife to return.
The creek will eventually be home to the least Bells vireo, willow
flycatcher, red-shoulder hawk and a variety of species that rely
on the woody vegetation found along rivers, creeks and streams for
food, nesting habitat, cover and migration. |
