A sushi bar and restaurant with an edge. RA Sushi is known as much for its stylish atmosphere as for its sushi. RA Sushi seeks to combine a trendy bar scene, contemporary décor and inventive cuisine to lure the business lunch, happy hour and dinner crowds. Having opened in Chicago, San Diego and Las Vegas, among other locations, RA is expanding within the Southern California market to Corona and Torrance.
The 5,000-square-foot restaurant seats 200 and includes an outdoor patio. RA's menu highlights Japanese fusion cuisine. Popular offerings include Tootsy Maki, a combination of crab mix, shrimp and cucumber rolled and topped with tempura bits and drizzled with a sweet eel sauce, and the "Viva Las Vegas," which is kani kama and cream cheese rolled in rice and seaweed, battered lightly with tempura and topped with spicy tuna, crab mix and sliced lotus root. RA is planning to launch several new sushi selections later this fall.
Lunch is served daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner served until 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The bar will remain open until 1 a.m.

RA Sushi Bar restaurants, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., is a subsidiary of Benihana Inc., operator of the nation's largest chain of Japanese and sushi theme restaurants. Benihana opened the first RA Sushi eatery in Scottsdale in October 1997.
