GRAND OPENING GALA OF DOS LAGOS BENEFITED TWO LOCAL CHARITIES

Aside from an exclusive evening of shopping, hors d'oeuvres, dining and entertainment,  ticket sales from the Grand Opening  Gala of The New Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos' in Corona benefited Alternatives to Domestic Violence (ADV) and Trauma Interventions Program, Inc. 

ADV provides services to victims of domestic violence and their families by emphasizing alternatives to using violence as a form of control. ADV operates the only shelter serving victims of domestic violence and their families in western Riverside County- Casa de Paz ("House of Peace"), a 17,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. In addition to residential services, ADV offers a comprehensive scope of services: 24-hour toll-free crisis line-TDD accessible, children's counseling and advocacy program, paraprofessional counseling and advocacy, community education, assistance with restraining orders and court accompaniment for victims, teen violence prevention programs specialized training for law enforcement, legal, social and emergency medical personnel.  ADV also operates certified anger management programs for abusers referred by Child Protective Services and the Corona Counseling Center, a fee-based, full service counseling center. ADV operates out of four office locations in Riverside, Corona, Temecula and Hemet and a confidential residential facility for women and children. Also benefited was Trauma Interventions Program, Inc. (TIP Inc.), a national non-profit organization founded in 1985 by mental health professional, Wayne Fortin. TIP Inc. establishes and operates TIP Chapters across the nation, dedicated to providing immediate support to those emotionally traumatized by crisis events. The Corona location has been providing emotional and practical support for 10 years. TIP Inc. provides support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year round. Among attendants in support of the event were Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge, and Reverend and Mrs. Munford of New Joy Baptist Church. Dos Lagos is located in Corona along Interstate 15, south of Highway 91 off the Weirick and Cajalco exits.
